What's This?? Can this be a BlendTec?!

Yes!!
Hey everyone! This is Kaitlin writing for my mom who hasn't blogged for a long time. I guess you could say that this is a Mothers Day present for her. I love you mom!! I'm glad that you liked your present and I knew that you wouldn't blog about what you got, so mom I did it for you! Mom I want you to blog about the funny story on how you got your BlendTec, I guess this blog from me will get you started on your next blog entry. Happy Mothers Day!! P.S. I think the pictures that I took are horrible and I really can't figure out how to edit them so sorry for the blurry pictures. :)

My Kid's Keep Me On My Toes!

What would I do without my children keeping up to date! They also keep me rolling in the aisles laughing. Thank goodness Kristin didn't have any pictures to post (or she would have) because that WOULDN'T have been cute! The boob smooshing was nothing compared with the doctor exam that came after. I hate those. Thankfully I like my doctor or I might not ever go. He promised to take good care Adrienne and my grandbabies next week. I'm very excited about the twins coming! I can't wait to hold them and to smell thier sweet baby smells. Nothing better than nestling down in thier little necks. Most of all, I am so happy for Adrienne and Lee. It has been a long time coming! We are so blessed.

I guess that's all the news! Kristin took care of the rest for me. Maybe I could hire her? Ghost blogger or something like that.

Yes! It's an update!

I love my mommy but she sure doesn't keep up on her blog very well so i'm doing an intervention! I called dad to get her password and he had to finagle it out of her. She claims her life is too boring to write about. I beg to differ! Here's a few things she's been up to. She just finished the new book by Robin Cook- she hasn't said if it was good or not but I'm assuming she thoroughly enjoyed it seeing that Robin Cook is one of her favorite authors...I've been trying to get Darcy to read one of my favorite books by him "Toxin" for the last 5 years and I think this might be the year because he downloaded the book onto his phone! Anyways, Kaitlin just went to Homecoming and I know my mom helped her get ready and stressed over her way cute dress. She's busy with Tenley and her playing soccer, mom says she's really good! I know she's working on her next enrichment gig something to do with glass etching and priesthood line of authority, maybe she'll let us know how that'll go...MAYBE! But the biggest thing is that her life is about to turn upside down with the anyday arrival of twin grandbabies! They will be here for sure by next Tuesday and mom will have a lot to do! I bet her life won't be boring anymore and she'll have plenty to blog about! Oh and she went to the boob doctor today and got smooshed! but I bet she wouldn't tell you that! Love you mom! don't erase this!
Love,
Kristin

O'HANA (family of) SISTERS

O'hana (family of) Sisters! That was the theme of our Enrichment Night Luau. I'm the Enrichment leader (not my favorite calling) and I worried about this event all summer long. I don't know why I worried so much. I have a great committee and with every ones help everything turned out so nice. We had a yummy chicken pasta salad with pineapple and grapes, Hawaiian sweet rolls and melon flowers for garnish, floats with Hawaiians Own juice, 7up and coconut pineapple ice cream, and macadamia nut white chocolate cookies. Our friend Matt Hutcheson went to Hawaii a couple of weeks before the event and brought home boxes of chocolate macadamia nuts that we were able to break down into favors that the sisters took home and also used them as part of our centerpieces. We also had a fun program.

I must admit, I'm glad it's over with! You would think I wouldn't have to worry about anything for awhile but NO, I'm already worried about the next thing coming up in November. Arrggg! I just can't turn it off!

Food Storage

I am so excited! I've been wanting to can meats for awhile now and I finally did it. Or I should say Mike and I did it. We have 12 pints of chicken canned and ready to put on the shelf. It was so easy! I found fresh chicken breast on sale for $1.69 per pound and bought 13lbs or so and put those lovely breasts into the jars with a little salt and pressure canned them. It was as easy as that! Because the chicken is in glass as opposed to metal, they will have a much longer shelf life and will taste a whole lot better! I am definitely going to do more and will be looking for a sale on beef.

David in Toledo, Spain

Today we received a telephone call from Spain. Our son David is there for three weeks taking classes on the language and culture of Spain. He is having a fabulous time. He sent a picture of him with the city of Toledo behind him. He has been to Madrid and has been able to see palaces, cathedrals and museums. He says the cathedrals are beyond what he could have ever imagined. We are anxious to hear more about his trip and see pictures. He was able to receive a grant for this trip which makes it even more fun. He is staying in the home of an older woman (50ish, of you can call that old) and she has cooked some good meals for him. What a great experience for him! Lesli and the kids are holding down the fort and are surely missing him and I know he misses them.

Arizona Here We Come

We were able to go to Arizona to meet our newest grandson and he is a beautiful, sweet baby!
It was fun to stay with Kristin, Darcy, Parker, Avery and little Ryder. We had a great time! We spent a lot of time in the pool and of course in the air conditioning because it was 114 degrees outside (yuck!). We spent the 4th of July at Reed and Debra Myers home. We were treated to a great dinner and were able to renew friendships. We also visited Patty and Charles (Mike's sister) and I saw their beautiful home for the first time. Two year old Avery walked into the house and seeing their large dogs said look at the horses! The kids loved the dogs. We had a wonderful Italian dinner and had a fun day of swimming and visiting. We also went out to dinner with Mike and Debbie McGuire and it was fun to catch up with them. So we had a great time seeing friends and family and just being together. I wish Kristin and Darcy lived closer because we miss them already!
